Welcome To Our Website
The African Power House (George Hicks Community School) founded in 2015 in response to the plight of orphan and young street children. There are about 50 street children and 100 orphans (3yrs-8yrs) in Mochengo town and its surrounding. The first project was a school for orphans and street children who could not afford school fees in the government schools and had problems at their homes. The centre currently runs various street children and vulnerable orphans projects in Mochengo, where we have a fully functional nursery school for children.
We have four trained teachers. The center also runs as training facility, due to limited resources we face a lot of challenges and hinder our goal of expanding from baby class, pre-unit, nursery school to Primary and rehabilitate more street children and orphans.
From November 2015 The Africa Power House implemented this project for the street children and orphans of Mochengo. Within a short period of one year we could do a lot of services to a number of street children and orphans.
